| Master Online: registration now open!
Since 2016 it has been the international online Master for those involved in the rehabilitation treatment of vertebral pathologies: 300 participants since then from all five continents engaged in an ongoing learning process. The English course was flanked in 2020 by the Chinese edition and in 2021 the Spanish one was added.
A learning opportunity that continues to be successful, in fact, we just opened registration for the VIII Edition of the English Online Master Course... |

| Master Online: students' feedback
The online learning experience is narrated by the participants themselves. One of the most extraordinary aspects of these seven editions of our international Master was to meet up and exchange views with students from all over the world who also told us how scoliosis is treated in their countries, what they expected from this training path and what made unique the experience of this course.
We have mixed a short video of students' feedback because no one better than those who have attended the course can tell others about it. |

Scoliosis can be prevented
Since we don't know exactly what causes most cases of scoliosis, we are not in a position to run tests and/or start therapies aimed at preventing it from occurring. There is no drug, no specific type of exercise, and no particular lifestyle choices that can prevent or delay its appearance.
The best thing we can do is adopt a pro-active approach to scoliosis treatment once the condition has been diagnosed. |

After Brazil, SEAS will land for the first time in Israel
The month of October kicked off with a SEAS level 2 course in Porto Alegre in Brazil. The collaboration with the local Brazilian host "Clinica Linear Saudade e Movimento" started in January 2022.
The courses are held in person in different locations in Brazil by Isis Navarro, a Seas-certified physiotherapist. For these training moments Michele Romano, head of physiotherapy in Isico, connects live online to assist in the theoretical and practical development of the course, intervening when required or for specific insights.
Our international training dedicated to the SEAS exercise approach to scoliosis continues in November: we will perform a SEAS Level 1 course in Israel, held by our physiotherapist Alessandra Negrini. |

Do you wear a brace?: the Slovenian version is available
Following the English, Romanian, Bulgarian, Portuguese, Spanish, and Turkish editions, we are happy to announce the Slovenian translation of the booklet published by Isico "Do You Wear a brace? Here is Isico's Advice". The translation was made possible thanks to the collaboration with the physiatrist Anja Udovčić Pertot, who had participated in Milan in far away 2011 in the very first edition of the SEAS courses dedicated to our scientific exercise approach to scoliosis.
The Isico booklet, which is part of a series of manuals for patients, includes a series of answers to many questions.
The treatment and awareness of scoliosis also pass through these communication initiatives developed over the years and designed for all patients, from the youngest to the older. It is, therefore, natural that it fills us with satisfaction to be able to convey these materials in many languages in order to reach worldwide as many patients and professionals as possible. Let's discover all our booklets on Isico's website.
Would you also like to have an edition in your language? Well, do not hesitate to contact us for information on how to do it! |

Two Isico patients among the final selection for Miss Italia
We present two young women who hope to be chosen in the next Miss Italia contest finals as “the fairest of them all”. Lavinia and Cecilia, as well as being beautiful girls who have reached the final of Miss Italia, also have another thing in common: both have had to overcome many hurdles from a very young age, when they were diagnosed with curvature of the spine at our centre and had to embark on a lengthy course of bracing treatment. Looking at their smiling faces today, it is hard to imagine the struggle of those long years spent “braced up” and the determination they had to show in order to get where they are now.
We spoke to both girls just after they won their place in the final, keen to know how Miss Lazio (Lavinia) and Miss Umbria (Cecilia) felt... |

Skiing, playing a musical instrument, horse riding or even jumping in the air - is it possible when wearing a brace? Yes, it is; the hundreds of patients who participated during the past 10 years in our Concorsetto proved it.
The videos and images of these kids are the best encouragement for those preparing to follow a demanding therapy such as that for scoliosis, and who are living the fear of not being able to practice a sport or play an instrument. For our monthly appointment find out on our YouTube channel @ScoliosisManager all you can do like Alessia, 14 years old... |

Will a scoliosis curve of around 30° get worse or give me back pain during pregnancy?
It is hard to predict the evolution of scoliosis. In adults, we usually talk of surgical scoliosis, which is associated with an increased risk of worsening, pain and disability, when the curve exceeds 45°–50°. In the presence of a curve measuring less than 30°, on the other hand, the situation can be considered stable. And the further below that 30° threshold, the more stable it will be. Don’t forget, though, that scoliosis is about more than just the severity of the curve. When examining a patient, a specialist will measure many parameters in order to define the situation and establish the risk of worsening. Therefore, if you have any concerns, we recommend you see your specialist.
According to reports in the scientific literature, back pain is very frequent in pregnancy, generally affecting one in two women (although it tends to disappear spontaneously after the baby is born). For this reason, it is crucial to keep active: regular sport is an excellent form of prevention. And if physical activity alone is not enough, you can always ask for a specific programme of self-correction exercises, to help keep your back strong and well supported right through to the post-partum period, when you will often have your baby in your arms.
